Minerva – Overlay Mosaic Crochet Pattern

Create two beautiful blankets with one coordinating collection of jazzy motifs!

Minerva is a versatile overlay mosaic crochet pattern featuring a collection of jazzy motifs arranged in different sequences throughout each section, creating two unique blanket designs.

Please note: This is a digital crochet pattern supplied as PDF files. You will not receive a physical blanket or printed pattern.

The pattern includes two separate PDF patterns: one for a throw-sized blanket and another for a smaller lap or baby blanket, so you can choose the size that suits your project.

Both designs use the overlay mosaic crochet technique and are suitable for beginners who are ready to explore this fun and rewarding style of crochet. Minerva is also a great way to use up leftover yarn from your stash and turn those extra balls into something beautiful!

What’s Included

  • Two separate PDF patterns: throw size and baby blanket size

  • Full written instructions for both blankets

  • Section-by-section charts that can be printed

  • Convenient one-page charts for viewing on your device

  • A separate chart for the border

  • All charts marked with Xs for easy reference

Blanket Sizes

Throw Size

  • 183 stitches × 233 rows

  • Approximately 110 cm wide × 140 cm long

Baby Blanket

  • 144 stitches × 168 rows

  • Approximately 95 cm wide × 105 cm long

Sizes are approximate and based on using light DK-weight yarn. Different yarn weights and crochet hook sizes will produce different finished dimensions.

Stitch Terminology

The patterns use the following stitch abbreviations:

  • DC – Double Crochet

  • SC – Single Crochet

  • Bst – Border Stitch

Finishing Your Blanket

You can finish your Minerva blanket with a double border that complements the dividing pattern, creating a coordinated look throughout the design. Alternatively, you can use a simple envelope border to neatly hide your yarn ends.

Whether you make a cosy throw for your home or a special baby blanket, Minerva offers a lovely opportunity to experiment with colour, use up your yarn stash and enjoy the rhythm of overlay mosaic crochet.
